Kambove Mining SAS (KMS), a second-tier holding subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), was awarded a certificate of honor by the Local Monitoring Committee of Kambove Territory, Haut-Katanga Province, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on June 25 local time, for its outstanding contributions to improving local livelihoods and promoting social development.

"Kambove Mining SAS is recognized as the best enterprise in the town of Kambove for your passionate involvement in fulfilling social responsibility and, above all, for respecting the schedule outlined in the terms of reference," the certificate reads.

At the award ceremony, representatives from local authorities, including the government, the development committee, and the Local Monitoring Committee, watched a short video introducing KMS' corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

"KMS has completed the most CSR projects, achieved the highest on-time completion rate, and delivered the best project quality among all CSR initiatives evaluated this time—setting a benchmark for others," a government official said at the ceremony.

A representative from the local youth committee commended KMS' support for young people, including radio station donations, youth training programs, and the construction and donation of sports facilities and equipment.

"These efforts have created more opportunities for youth development and serve as a model for corporate-community integration," the representative said.

Since 2023, KMS has implemented 12 livelihood-focused projects benefiting local residents across key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth development.

These projects include the Kashengeneke Primary School, funded and constructed by KMS in Kashengeneke village, Kasenga Territory, Haut‑Katanga Province, and the donation of desks and chairs to Institute Kiwewe in Kambove Territory, which have eased access to education for local children.

Wells funded and constructed by KMS in Kashengenek village and Mikuba, a community in Likasi, Haut-Katanga Province, as well as other areas, have improved local residents' conditions of drinking water.

The establishment of a health post in Kashengeneke village by KMS has enhanced basic medical services for villagers.

In addition, the company has sponsored and built basketball courts and football fields and donated sports equipment and agricultural supplies to local communities, directly raising the quality of life for local people.

Currently, KMS is pushing ahead with more public-benefit projects in the DRC, including the construction of grain storage facilities and two bridges, continuing to inject momentum into the development of the local communities.
